war files in general are defined as:

(short for Web ARchive)  a ZIP file used to distribute a set of Java classes.

Basically, this archive contains the files needed for your servlet container to deploy and run alfresco.

For instance, running tomcat, you would copy alfresco.war to the webapp directory. Tomcat explodes it (think of it as unzipping) and you should be able to navigate to it in your browser once thats done.

Hi Heckle,

I have followed the steps from this Alfresco-AIO and was able to run the site. As I needed the alfresco.war and share.war files for deployment but alfresco.war was not generated like the share.war(inside share folder).

Also what does below line indicate ?

repo  (This is the Alfresco WAR project - produces a customized Alfresco.WAR by applying the AMP produced by the /acme-cms-poc-repo-amp project)

Do I need to apply some command on repo folder ??

Thanks in advance!
