1.I created a new user with the username "test" using Alfresco Client portlet .
2. Shutdown the server
3. Updated the username to "test1" directly in db in the tables- alf_node_properties and alf_authority.
4. Restarted the server
5. Tried to login to Alfresco client portlet with the new username "test1" , but it doesn't work.

Does alfresco store username in some other db tables ? Because username is non-editalbe , i directly updated in the db.

Thanks
Punitha

User information is Stored in the Alfresco repository. The repository stores some content in the DB and others on the file system. You should NEVER modify the DB tables directly.
