Hello.

I'm doing research to find out what is the best hardward and software to run Alfresco?  What do we need to buy?  I tried Enterpise version 3.0 and it is very buggy and slow on machine with Pentium 2.8 GHz window XP SP2, 1gb ram, 80GB HD.  Question I have are

1.  What community version of Alfresco  is the best choice to use?
2.  What hardware does it require? CPU, RAM
3.  What kind of oeration syste?  does it run better on Linux or Windows ?
4.  Java SE pack version?

Thanks for your feedback

All,

I have been playing with this alfresco for 3 weeks now and have tried a numerous version available from Alfresco.  I posted a lot messages lately of the problem that I have.  I came by one of the post suggested to try the version from BitNami.  I download a full version 2.9.0B from bitnami to tried it out.  It seems all the problems I have are go away  Smiley Tongue.  I tested on 2.8ghz computer with Winxp sp2 1gb ram.  Only thing I need to configure is the email by adding email server name in the file repository.properties.  After that everything works great.  I'm glad that CFIS work,  CPU always below 10, FTP works. If you are newbie like me check it out.

Happy Testing.
