Alfresco sharepoint problems with accent marked folders and files

Hi,

I have an Alfresco Community 4.2c installation in a Centos6.4 x64 local network server working generally fine: online editing and previewing in share, mail sending, etc.. The problem is when I try to access to a file or a folder in Alfresco sharepoint that contains accent marked words like "gestió".

I can access through the folders (for example http://URL:7070/alfresco/site1/documentLibrary/documents/gestió.xlsx) to the file but when I open it is just a blank file. If i change the filename to "gestio" with no accent mark, then the file opens with no problem. I get the same error if the accent mark is in the final file or somewhere in the path.

The database is postgresql and it's coded in UTF-8.

Could you help me, please?

Thank you.

Roger

Hello,

this (or similar) issues have come up for several of our customers in the past. We advise them not to use special (language specific) characters in file names as somewhere in the SharePoint integration (don't know wether in Office or Alfresco), URLs are not encoded/decoded properly (in some - not all - constellations of Office version X and Alfresco version Y).
You should check if this issue occurs on the latest Community version as well and if so raise a JIRA ticket for this issue.

Regards
Axel

Hello Axel,

Thank you for the reply. Now it's difficult not to use special characters as there are yet a lot of folder and file names with that problem, I'll try raising a JIRA ticket.

Regards,

Roger

Hi,

Just in case anyone has the same problem, the only solution I've reached so far is to use older versions of Microsoft Office as it works correctly using Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2003.

Anyway, Alex, as it's a rare problem I guess there are no future plans for this problem, right?

Thank you.

Roger
