Hi, I want to use Document management in our company.
But I have 2 questions:

1. What is the difference between "Alfresco Share" and "Alfresco DM"?
Can we say that "Alfresco share" can be an alternative for "Alfresco DM" in document management?
- (Did anyone check both?)

2. It seems that in Alfresco Share, we have some strong capabilities like thumbnails view which we do not have in Alfresco DM? Is Alfresco Share more capable than Alfresco DM?

Thanks

By Alfresco DM assume you refer to the older "Alfresco Explorer" client. This is based on Java/JSF and is tightly coupled with the Alfresco Repository.

Alfresco Share is a Web 2.0 style collaborative user interface. It works with a remote (or on the same machine) Alfresco repository. All services such as thumbnailing, activity feeds, etc are provided by the Alfresco repository.

Not all available services are available out of the box in either UI. Typically end users would use Share and power users would use Share + Explorer. But it really does depend on you requirements?

When you install Alfresco Labs 3 (linux stable installer excluding JDK), it installs both Explorer and Share, correct? That is what happened when I installed it anyways.

A few questions: Would you say that Alfresco Share is sort of a "social networking" product? I read that Alfresco can be connected or integrated with Moodle and Wordpress. Are those two softwares connected via Alfresco Explorer or Share? Thanks.
