Alfresco Share Flash Preview

Good day.

Been kicking the tires on the latest beta of 3.0 and have been having an issue with the flash document preview.  I have only ever seen the dark grey box with the spinning patter in the middle.

I've installed the Windows Setup as per the instructions with MySQL.  There no exceptions being through at the default log level.

Do I have to install the other SWF Tools?  Thoughts on how I might get this to work.

You are very right.  I installed the newest version (2009-03-15-1014) and preview is working like a charm.

My issue was relying on the CentOS and RPMForge repos for all the dependencies.

MikeH is right. pdf2swf is generating AVM1 clips which can not be controlled by ActionScript3. We've fixed this for a client. On my to do list to write up the fix and release it.

The fix is to use the following action script to load the Flash movie rather to work around the fact it is an AVM1 clip. http://www.libspark.org/svn/as3/ForcibleLoader/src/org/libspark/utils/ForcibleLoader.as.

We've done this for a client and it is in use. Unfortunately we can't share it as we also customised it to do additional credential checks prior to displaying the document. Will try and get a working WebPreviewer.swf uploaded over the weekend.

need help. Just installed alfresco 3.3g.
Preview works for pdf, png etc…
With .doc, .odt i see thumbnails in Docment library and when trying to see preview of specific document i see preview window with grey background.
Tried linux FF3, windows FF3, windows IE clients. Tried upgrade swftools from 0.8.1 to 0.9.1. Tried to change in thumbnail-service-context.xml flash version from 9 to 10.
Nothing helps 😞

You will need to manually install the full version of OpenOffice (at least for Linux) and for Debian servers this version of swftools:
wget -c http://mirrors.kernel.org/ubuntu/pool/universe/s/swftools/swftools_0.9.0-0ubuntu1_i386.deb

I know topic is old but here's the solution i've applied to this issue:

• I've installed latest version of swftools from git.


• I've set the consumer role to the folder and user/group i wish to preview documents

i cant view the preview of swf files.
ive instaled alfresco 3.4.d with flash player 10 firefox 4.

I receive the grey background and the spinning arrow.
for others documents works fine (word, excel)

I have just upgraded to alfresco 4.0d from 3.4d. viewing pdf files is being displayed as an image and not flash preview like i was in 3.4d. Do i have to install pdf2swf separately? why doesn't the one that comes with alfresco work?
