Alfresco Search does not find any matches

Hi,

I have a problem with a newly migrated installation.  I recently migrated from a physical host to a virtual one and in doing deleted all of the solr4 indexes[1] so that they're rebuilt in the new database. 

It seems since the migration the search function inside of alfresco cannot find any matches at all, no matter what you search for.  I know this was working before the migration.  I have not found any errors or exceptions related to searching in the log files. 

Any ideas on how I can investigate this further?

Alfresco version: Community - 5.0.0 (d r99759-b2)
OS: CentOS 7.1 - 64bit
DB: MySQL (Postgres disabled)

What shows in your logs? Basically what I want you to do is clear out the alfresco.log so that its empty and then restart the alfresco service. Post what you get here please.

Attached are the clean alfresco and share logs after a restart.  No errors show up after doing a search either.

There are some weird execution errors in there where it's looking for executable in the wrong directory (./common/bin/ rather than just .bin, and soffice rather than ./libreoffice/program/soffice) but I don't think any of those would cause the search not to work.  This is a normal installation with no modifications or overrides so not sure how that got screwed up.

For the search problem: I am logging in as 'admin'.  I am searching for anything in the system, full names, path names, directory names, file names, partial file names… all of it returns '0 - results found'

Ok another comment on my migration issue actually led me to the solution.

Even though both the physical and virtual machines were installed using the same command line options, same exact version of alfresco they were major differences between the two global config file.

Adding

< ### Solr indexing ###
< index.subsystem.name=solr4
< dir.keystore=${dir.root}/keystore
< solr.port.ssl=8443

Back into the virtual machine's config file, fixed the issue but I also noticed that there are a ton of differences in just missing configuration lines.  The older install on the physical server is much more verbose with the configurations.   I have copied some of the ones that made sense over and the system is working and a lot less errors (paths to files) and warnings … and obviously searching now works.
