Alfresco repository - binary files

Good morning to all,

I have some questions about the Alfresco repository and I think this is the correct section of the Forum.

It's possible to store the files, while maintaining the name and extension?
This will be the opportunity for anyone to access the file system directly, find and open their documents, drawings, programs … Storing all contents with a binary extension and changing the name, it is very difficult to find and open file you are interested in directly.

Another question is:

It's possible to make a backup of the repository and move it to another hard disk?
As I understand Alfresco uses a database for storing information on uploads, so they can be recovered if necessary; you can freely transfer the repository on another storage device (obviously changing the parameters in the configuration file to specify the new repository directory) or the indices on the DB are absolute addresses and lose all references to files?

No you don't touch the alfresco content store directly, access to your files, including the file names is controled through Alfresco. In fact it would probably be a good idea if you set your filesystem permissions such that your users couldn't even see or update the alfresco content store.

And yes you can move your content store around.
