Alfresco public view?

Is it possible to get alfresco to display a certain user's files publically.

For example a user will grant the public read access, but one will still have log in and be part of a group to delete or change/update file.

Is such a thing possible with alfresco or is alfresco strictly a briefcase for documents ? :?:

Alfresco has full control over who can do what to the files within it.  (including read, update and delete)
