Come one, come all to the Alfresco + Liferay: CMS and Portal meetup!

http://web.meetup.com/44

We're hosting interactive round-table discussions on subjects such as best practices, integration, roadmap, case studies and much more!

Unlike a typical conference where one person dictates to the crowd, we're hosting small round-tables where YOU are in control of the discussion.

No sales or marketing hype here! Only grade A certified prime Angus content for you portal and CMS lovers!

The meetup runs the whole day (9:00am - 4:30pm) and concludes with a FREE HAPPY HOUR at a local bar/restaurant.

There will be plenty opportunities to network, ask questions, and provide feedback that the Alfresco and Liferay communities will use to grow and improve.

This meetup is open to anyone and everyone who is interested in Alfresco, Liferay or content management and portals in general.

Are there going to be any material from the event?  There's absolutely no chance of me getting to California, 3000miles and several hundred pounds of airfare kinda kick that into touch Smiley Sad

Maybe Luis Sala can do some podcasting, maybe a video or two?

That is a great idea – we'll see if we can podcast some of the event.  We'll post all of the material in the community content area and on the meetup site:

Good news! I spoke with Luis and we do plan to record some of the event.  We may even record some of the breakout sessions.  I'll post here as things evolve.

Update:
We have commitment that Reuven Cohen (or one of his colleagues at enomaly) will be leading a discussion on creating a global Content Delivery Network (CDN) with Alfresco.

Reuven and his team have been very active in the Xen virtualization and Amazon EC2 space (also based on Xen). This promises to be a very interesting discussion that deals with massive scalability and leveraging virtualization to achieve such scalability in a cost-effective fashion.

Call To Action:
Please let us know what type of topics and breakout sessions you would be interested in.  Even if you cannot attend, please feel free to offer suggestions – we will be publishing as much of the content as possible!
