Alfresco External Webpage Link as Content

hi Guys,

I'm using alfresco to help users interface with the Pentaho Business Intelligence Suite and I would like to add a link to my report as a link in the content sections but I really have no idea how this would happen. At the moment I've created a bit of content with a url in an iframe to open the page I require, is there a better way of going about this?

Cheers

Tom

I'm not quite sure what you want to do. All Alfresco content is accessable by URL, and so are templates that can rendering anything including Alfresco content:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/URL_Addressability

Is this enough info?

Thanks,

Kevin

Sorry kevin,

Basically all I wanted was to be able to add links to external(non alfresco) webpages in the content sections so they'd be inline with xls, docs etc. So instead of adding a word file or excel spreadsheet I can add a url content with a link to a different web site. At the moment I add an extra file with a iframe tag in side to open up the page I'm wanting, is there a better way?

Hope that makes more sense

Cheers

Yes, you can do that easily, click on the 'details' icon of the file that you want to take the link, and there is a section named 'Links', all you have to do is to copy the URL of the 'Download Content' link and paste it wherever you want.

Sorry jlopez we seem to have crossed wires, I need external pages linked within alfresco, not alfresco pages linked to external sites.

Cheers anyway
