alfresco dashboard loading very very slow

Dear Guys, i am using Alfresco community edition 3.3, the server using total 8G Ram / 8CPU cores, and below is the JVM settings..

export JAVA_OPTS='-Xms2G -Xmx4G -XX:MaxPermSize=256M -server'

When i try to login http://myserverip:8080/alfresco, login process is very slow to load (My Tasks To Do) and when i click on any page, its also loading very slow, almost taking 50-60 seconds and same for logout page. I have doubt on Mysql queries, but i already tune, and no query will take it more than 2 seconds.. its seems some backend alfresco process taking time, kindly help me to diagnouse the issue.

First thing is if possible migrate to lastest version of Alfresco 5.0
Second have you done any customization on existing instance of Alfresco?
Any errors in logs?
try with MaxPermSize to 512MB.

First of all i would like thankyou for your remarks and suggestions, i already tried with MaxPermSize = 512M , 1G, 2G, but still no effect, i check the tomcat server status, and every time enough ram has been spare during working on dashboard, regarding customization yes its customized by our old programmer, which left now, and i have no idea, where to start the troubleshoot. Plz guide me furhter..
