Alfresco 4 error: Unable to retrieve License information

Hi,
a few days ago I've upgraded my previous Alfresco 3.4d community installation to the latest 4.0.

After the installation I've found the following error message in the log file:

Unable to retrieve License information from Alfresco: 500‍

The exception is thrown when the api is called to determine the Alfresco edition (from tcpdump: GET /alfresco/s/api/admin/restrictions?guest=true).
If I enter the URL in the browser I also get an error. If I leave off the "?guest=true" parameter I get a valid JSON result from the server.

Currently guest login is enabled in alfresco-global.properties.

Anyone else has this problem? Any hints what I can do against it (except filing a bug ).

I got the same problem. 4.0a keeps nagging about not being able to retrieve license info and 'Guest authentication not supported'. Even though guest login is disabled.
Already told Alfresco about this when I tried 3.5a: https://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=38423

Hi,

Wow… that was really fast. My bug has been solved in less than 24 hours.

The exception was caused by the missing home space of the user "guest". I removed it to clean up my document space.
After recreating this space the exception is gone…

I guess the real cause will be fixed in the next release. At least I can live with this workaround.

Starting with a clean db and repository, the Guest home space was automatically created. Still the exception is show every time I click on something in Share.
Also, the exception 'Unable to retrieve License information from Alfresco: 500' is shown.

I tested both in 4.0a and 4.0b final.

Maybe there is another work around possible: which section(s) in log4j is (are) responsible for the output of these two errors?
If we can find out which those are, we can 'up' the loglevel. So the error and info are still there, they just don't get logged anymore.

Anyone a suggestion?
