Hi,
For our application content management, we are planning to use Alfresco 4 community edition.
And for file meta data persistance, we need to leverage the existing DB, so we need to use DB2 9.7.
In the Alfresco supported platform listing, its mentioned that DB2 is only supported on Enterprise edition but not on community edition.
But In some of the discussion, I see that few folks have successfully configured/run Alfresco community edition with DB2
Pls guide me if its feasible and stable production system to go ahead with Alfresco Community Edition Ver 4 with DB2 Ver 9.7.

Its feasible, although as you have seen the community version only supports Open Source databases (so no DB2).
You will have to find a non alfresco provided configuration for DB2 or write it yourself. And then test it to make sure it is working correctly.

Thanks MRogers. Could you please explain what you meant by 'non alfresco provided configuration for DB2'

Alfresco does not provide the DB2 configuration for community. Therefore any configuration must come from elsewhere, for example community members.

It depends upon how much testing you do, and the quality of your work. But obviously it won't have been tested by Alfresco's QA.

In case anyone out there still needs this, I created an AMP that will allow you to use Alfresco Community with DB2. I have done some basic testing (creating spaces, files) using Alfresco Community 4.2.c and DB2 Express C 9.7 but as mrogers mentioned this has not gone through Alfresco's QA so take precautions as necessary.
