Alfresco 3.3g: empty Groups Management page

Hi,

I have upgraded Alfresco from 3.2r2 to 3.3g, Community Edition.
I have groups imported by the sync from LDAP-AD.
After having got a clean startup with alfresco 3.3g, I noticed that my Group Management page is empty: login as admin -> Administration Console -> Manage User Groups, I got a normal page, titled "Root groups", but with no group at all. No errors in alfresco.log.
But ldap groups import is successfull (both full and differential import).

I think my groups are still present somewhere: selecting a space in Company Home, More actions -> Manage space users, Invite, Search Groups "so" gives me a list with "EVERYONE" and five "GROUP_my-old-group-name". EVERYONE is always returned by this search. The number of "GROUP_*" elements varies depending on the search term.

In Group Management page, I can create new groups. but still they don't appear. In the Invite - Search Groups panel, the new groups appear with the correct name (i.e. without the leading "GROUP_").
So the group creation seems to be working, it seems a visibility problem.

Any suggestion? If you need other information (log, config, …), tell me and I will copy them here.
What can I add to the log4j configuration to debug this behaviour?

Thank you for any help!

Luciano

I came across something similar - http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=27983.  I could not management to fix the invisible groups and resulted in upgrading again using the steps in the wiki (url in linked thread).

dward made some suggestions which may help you out,

Regards,
Colin.

Resolved.

The solution seems to be: delete tomcat/work/* and tomcat/temp/*.

Thank you Colin. However i didn't follow the wiki's instructions.

Bye,
Luciano

You know, I usually clear out that folder but never thought of it in this instance.  Another step to add to my checklist

Thanks,
Colin.

True to the character of the company and culture of the community, Alfresco recognized the need, identified the value, and delivered a solution.
