Alfresco 3.2 & Oracle 10g work together??

Hi everyone,

I am having problems trying to connect Alfresco with a Oracle 10g database…

I've read lot of posts and documentation but I coldn't configure it properly.

My first question is if it is possible to connect an Alfresco Labs 3.2 instance with a Oracle 10g database, because some people say that it's possible but another people say no… And now I am not sure who is right…

I have tried configuring the custom-repository.properties and custom-hibernate-dialect.properties, locating the connector for Oracle in the proper folder, in Tomcat tomcat/lib, and I have a database with an alfresco user and schema..

Plase, could anyone give me a hand with this matter??

Thanks in advance.
Alberto.

Oracle is not supported on Alfresco Community 3.2.
It is supported on Alfresco Enterprise.

Hi,

Yes, I checked the version of the Oracle connector, even I tried with different versions…

Are you sure mrogers??

And which versions of Alfresco Labs support Oracle??

Thanks a lot

Ok, I think I have found the answer…

I found in this topic
http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17605&start=15
a link to another page where It is explained that from version 3 of Alfresco the extensions for propietaries databases are included only in Alfresco Enterprise releases.

link: http://newton.typepad.com/content/2009/03/building-a-stronger-open-source-product.html

Explicit text:
"We started with Alfresco 3 to put extensions to proprietary databases such as Oracle or SQL Server into the enterprise release only, while extensions to MySQL, Ingres and other open source databases were available in open source"

Then, previous versions to 3 are compatible with propietary databases??

Thanks.

Yes you should be able to get Labs 3B and Labs 3C to work with Oracle.

OK, thank you mrogers now I am using Alfresco 3 Labs Stable…

But now I would want to know where I can download the source code for this version, Alfresco 3 Labs Stable, to use it with eclipse and build it.

Thank you
Alberto

You need to check out revision 12844 for 3 Stable.
