alfresco 3.2 and derby database

derby is no longer supported

i found it quite handy to use when packaging small demos / proof of concepts

any chances of getting it back? well, not that mysql is so tremendous effort to configure but with derby it was so easy to restart from scratch just by deleting a directory… I'll miss it

It's unlikely to return - we were starting to hit it's limits and it often caused more problems than it solved when people wanted to take their proof of concept into a more production-ready environment.

As you say, clearing out MySQL databases is pretty easy - we do it all the time during development with a couple of scripts.
