Hi All,

I am new to Alfresco. I am trying Alfresco for Document management. I have installed Alfresco in Redhat Linux machine. I have gone through Alfresco documentation PDF.

I have 2 question Please clear my doubt:

1] When i try to map my share drive in windows machine through this path \\linuxfoss\Alfresco\Uuser Home\Tech\ it ask password for Guest user, but if i give password i cant able to login in guest account. How can i continue future, Please help me.

2] For mapping share drive if i add A to the Hostname i get a error message that network path \\linuxfossA\Alfresco\User Home\Tech\ not found.

How can i add the share in windows. Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

For Linux, you don't add the A to the server name.

When prompted, log in using a user name and password that has been defined within Alfresco.

Hi All,

SteveGreenbaum, thanks for the reply.

Now i have installed Alfresco in windows machine[xx.xx.22.152]. Now i can able to map the share by \\alfrescoA\alfresco with password [xx.xx.22.152] in the same machine. But when i try to map the same drive from another machine say [xx.xx.22.154] i cant able to map the share. Internally i can able to map the share but from another machine i cant able to  map. I need to do any setting to share to access from other machine. Please help me to resolve it.

Thanks in advance,

What message do you receive when you try to map the drive?  Sounds like a firewall issue.

Hi SteveGreenbaum,

I get a error message like this
the network path \\alfrescoA\alfresco could not be found

If it is a firewall issues means how to resolve it .

Thanks for the quick response.

Thanks in advance,

On which version of Windows are you running the Alfresco server?  The firewall issues typically come up when running Windows 2008 Server.

Humm…not sure then.  Maybe post the complete mapping path you are using when you try to map the drive in Windows.

My map path is \\alfrescoa\alfresco then it ask for user name and password.
user name : alfrescoa\admin
password : password

Then i tried installing alfresco in windows 2003 after installation and configuration. I tried to map the driver in the same machine. But i get error message
Logon unsuccessful
windows is unable to log you on. But my user name is admin and my password is password.

From the external machine try using the IP address without the port number instead of the server name.

user name : alfrescoa\admin      And when you enter the user name try removing the local machine name from the name.  Just login in with admin.
