Activiti Alfresco integration what about existing workflows

Say a customer wants to upgrade from Alfresco 2.2 with a number of existing (jbpm) workflows in place for over 2 years and a large number of running instances.

Will  Activiti or Alfresco provide a means of converting existing Alfresco 2.2 Jbpm workflows and their running instances to continue running under the Activiti BPMN engine?

If so, what kind of tooling are you considering at this moment?

If not, then what steps would need to be taken to migrate to the Alfresco version with Activiti integration (when and if such version becomes available).

There are currently no plans on providing tooling around automatic migrations.
The strategy will be a phase-out: let the two engines and workflows co-exist, and after time Activiti will be used more and more until jBPM can be removed.

Hi Alex.

There is no supported way of doing that, but we start to collect experiences in real life projects (see eg http://www.bpm-guide.de/2010/12/24/using-bpmn-2-0-models-with-jbpm-3-a-migration-path-and-more/), if you plan to do some project around that let me know…

Cheers
