The H2 can be started from the apps folder, so it's not missing. Can you start with a clean distro/folder agian?

Hi,
I think You are working with WinXP. I'm too.
I think, I have got the same problem. But it is earlier:
If I install from scratch the installation isn't sucessfull. There is the following message if I execute "ant demo.start":

    internal.classpath.libs:

    db.create:
         [echo] creating db
         [java] 22.03.2011 07:35:29 org.activiti.engine.ProcessEngines initProcessEn

    jar:file:/C:/Program/Activiti/activiti-5.3/setup/build/activiti-cfg.jar!/activiti.c
    fg.xml
         [java] 22.03.2011 07:35:30 org.activiti.engine.ProcessEngines initProcessEn
    ginFromResource
[java] INFO: Exception while initializing process engine :Bad version numbe

    .java:180)
         [java]     at org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.Java.run(Java.java:710)

I don't have any idea for workaround.

Hi,

Clark, that's another problem that will be fixed in 5.4 again, check the workaround here: http://forums.activiti.org/en/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1224&hilit=bad+version+number
