Access Control (mainly viewing permissions), with WebDAV

Hello,

We have setup Alfresco to authenticate and sync with OpenLDAP, and hence our windows users need WebDAV for uploading/downloading of files and folders.

Now, the issue is that using WebDAV shows all the folders listing (and there are about 8000+ users !), so it basically becomes quite difficult for the users to hunt around folders for which they have permissions to work on.

Of course, all the alfresco roles are respected with WebDAV, but it would be really good to limit the "viewing" itself of folders in windows explorer.

Any pointers in this regard welcome.

Thanks.

Create a folder in Alfresco explorer and click Manage Space Users (found under More Actions) and there uncheck Inherit parent permissions.
That will prevent a folder from having Consumer rights on it, which will limit the "viewing" itself of folders in windows explorer
