Hi Everyone,

I have installed Alfresco successfully. However, after I have installed Alfresco and started it, any chinese or japanese words on the Alfresco Web Page is unavailable. For example, the space name "主页" becomes "??". What is wrong with Alfresco? Could anyone tell me how to solve it? Thank you very much.

Hi Joel,

did you check the database encoding? Most likely it should be UTF-8.

Pim.

Yes. I have checked. The default encoding is UTF8.

Hi Joel18,

Which DB are you using, and can you post the relevant sections of your DB config that enable UTF-8 (if you can find them).
With a correct setup you should be seeing the chars you are expecting.

Hi Steve,

I have solved the problem by adding “db.url=jdbc:mysql://localhost/alfresco?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=utf-8” in custom-repository.properties. Thank you very much.

Best Regards.
