A question on next release Alfresco 2.0

Hi,

I have one question about the newer release 2.0:

Federated Repositories

We are looking at two approaches to federation and at some point will implement both. The first is to take advantage of the natural federation capabilities of Lucene. A query against the Lucene index can execute against multiple indexes. To support this, we are designing an identifier addressability capability in line with emerging content management standards (iECM and JSR-283). In addition, another approach we are considering is similar to those employed by AskOnce and Venetica, and that is to provide a federation layer that parcels out queries to underlying repositories. This model is consistent with the vision of those participating in iECM.


This comment means alfresco will have a separated repository and we will can start a repository on a diferent web-applicacion server than the webclient????????

Hi,

Does Alfresco (ECM or WCM) support Federated repositories?
I came to know that Alfresco supports Federated Search: http://www.alfresco.com/products/docs/releases/2.0/ecm/ but whereas I am specifically interested to know more about Federated repositories:

I came to know that the Federated Repository has not been implemented yet as per the WIKI document here: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Alfresco_Repository_Architecture  Option #5, but not sure about recent releases!

Any updates/comments are greatly appreciated.
