A few questions...

Does anyone know if the following functionality exists within Activiti or if there are extensions that may suffice…

-Spatial component that would allow users to tag tasks to mapped features
-inventory/tracking function
-budget/cost tracking function
-analytical tools

If any of this is more appropriately asked in the Alfresco forums I apologize in advance.

No, but there are custom form stencils, which you can use to add your own 'map' feature

Not sure what you mean by those. Can you elaborate?

Yes, the Alfresco Activiti Bpm Suite has analytics/reporting built in

I own several greenhouses and each one has a list of supplies that we use on a daily basis.  I would like to have some way of tracking the inventory and cost of these supplies for each project over it's life-span and have this information feed into some kind of business analytics process.

Ok, thanks. That's a cool use case 🙂
if you want that information in your analytics, you'll need to correlate them with your business processes (not duplicating, but storing references), so that when you create reports from your data, you can use those relationships again.

But out of the box, Activiti does not have that, but of course, you could use process variables for this purpose.
