Hi.  4.2.d (14/05/13) working fine.  When setting up workflows no notifications via email arrive.  Using on an internal network forwarding mail to internal SMTP server.  Have test email configured so I know when the services come up.

Error in alfresco log is 2013-05-22 17:02:34,791  ERROR [action.executer.MailActionExecuter] [mailAsyncAction6] Failed to send email to 'myusername' as the address is incorrectly formatted

Checked user profile - the email address is correct and FQDN.  The email address that receives test emails is a gmail address.

Seen another post from a while ago https://forums.alfresco.com/forum/installation-upgrades-configuration-integration/configuration/emai... that discusses jar issues for the mailer but that's for V3.  Wondering if this is a simple config issue in global properties?

Is there anyway to check "how" Alfresco has stored the user's email address?  Could it be malformed and thus not passing email validation?

Also, site invite emails work fine.  Out of the box, is 4.2.d set for multi tenancy?  Could that be the issue?

I believe it is a fairly recent 4.2.d occurrence as early 4.2.d nightlys did not exhibit this problem.

I am using the July 2nd nightly build currently.

ALF-18520 indicates there are problems with mailing in the latest builds.

Using 12 July Nightly of 4.2.d the address incorrectly formatted still appears in alfresco.log when attempting to send an email notification.

Latest 4.2.d nightly build (10 August 2013).  Clean install using binary installer on Ubuntu 12.04. No LDAP.  Using admin account. Admin properties set with correct email address.  Start workflow, include email notifications.  Same error.  Email address is incorrectly formatted.

Using Alfresco (Community Multi-Tenant). Current version: 4.2.0 (r53666) - Built myself from HEAD

Outgoing notifications seems to be addressed to the username instead of the email field.

System notifications work fine, but when applying the 'email' function using rules, sends the mail to user@tenant_name instead of the email address of the user.

For now I am working around it by using a Javascript to send mail out.

Additionally, no emails can be sent to a domain containing a dash.
