Organizations rely on Salesforce to manage customer relationships, service interactions, and critical business processes. Yet the content needed to support those processes often lives elsewhere. Contracts, correspondence, customer records, engineering documents, invoices, and other business content can be spread across repositories, creating friction for users and slowing down the customer experience.

That's why Hyland continues to invest in integrations for Salesforce, as well as other enterprise business applications like Workday and SAP SuccessFactors.

Our goal is simple: help organizations access the information they need while reducing application switching, or managing duplicate copies of content. Whether your content is stored in Hyland Content Innovation Cloud or OnBase, users should be able to work with that information from within Salesforce.

Today, we're excited to announce the latest Hyland for Salesforce release, which expands support to include OnBase repositories through Hyland Content Federation Service (CFS). This release gives organizations even greater flexibility in how they connect Salesforce to enterprise content while preserving governance, security, and control.

Why This Matters

Many organizations have invested heavily in Salesforce as their system of engagement and business data management while continuing to rely on enterprise content platforms such as OnBase to manage and govern critical business information.

Without an integrated approach, users often face challenges such as:

  • Searching multiple systems for information
  • Managing duplicate copies of content
  • Delays in customer-facing processes
  • Limited visibility into information spread across repositories

Hyland for Salesforce addresses these challenges by bringing content directly into the Salesforce experience, helping teams work faster and make more informed decisions.

Expanding Our "Meet Customers Where They Are" Strategy

Hyland recognizes that no two customer environments are exactly alike.

Some organizations are adopting Hyland Content Innovation Cloud as part of their cloud modernization and AI initiatives. Others continue to rely on OnBase as a mission-critical content platform. Many operate in hybrid environments that include both.

Rather than forcing customers into a single approach, Hyland continues to invest in integrations that support their current and future technology strategies.

With this release, Hyland for Salesforce now supports content stored in both Hyland Content Innovation Cloud and OnBase, providing customers with greater choice and flexibility as they evolve their content and process ecosystems.

The August 2026 release introduces several important enhancements:

  • Access OnBase Content Directly from Salesforce
Users can securely access, view, capture, and store content managed in OnBase without leaving Salesforce. Content remains governed and retained within OnBase, eliminating the need to duplicate files while reducing context switching.
  • Retrieve Information Beyond a Single Record
Organizations can now configure query-based retrieval options that support business processes spanning multiple records, objects, or repositories. This allows users to locate relevant information even when content is not tied to a specific Salesforce record.
  • Faster Access to Relevant Content
Users can execute multiple queries and view results together in a single experience, helping them find the information they need more quickly and efficiently.
  • Simplified Administration
System administrators can manage OnBase connections through a centralized configuration experience designed to support current and future repository integrations.
  • Deliver Better Experiences with Connected Content
The value of Hyland for Salesforce extends beyond the integration, including the freedom to leverage existing content investments while creating a more connected, productive, and AI-ready enterprise.

By connecting Salesforce users to the content they need, organizations can:

  • Improve user productivity
  • Reduce manual searches and context switching
  • Deliver faster customer service
  • Strengthen content governance
  • Eliminate unnecessary content duplication
  • Create a more connected digital workplace
