Do current v5.5 document lifecycles need to be changed to work with the new v5.6 workflow engine?

Document lifecycles are a separate feature from the new workflow capabilities.
Lifecycles are just a way to store one state value (the current lifecycle state) and what transitions are allowed between states, but they don't say anything about automation processing, actors, rights, associated documents, tasks, etc., which are all what a Workflow is about.

Thanks for the response. I suspected I would get an answer similar to your response, however, I wasn't sure if there were any subtleties with the interactions between the workflow engine and the lifecycle states.
