SSD drive size keeps increasing after deleting files

Hello

I just downloaded Alfresco community edition & tried to upload some large files to a Repository via Alfresco Share UI.

1. I uploaded 1GB file & then deleted it.

2. Uploaded 4 more files & then deleted them

3. Went to my profile->Trashcan & deleted all files

4. Now scanned C:\alfresco-community folder & found out that it is taking 5GB. (Files not actually deleted from hard drive ?)

I would like to know why is this happening & how to solve this issue?

When files are deleted within Alfresco, they are not immediately deleted from disk. There are various blog posts out there detailing the node and content lifecycle, like this one from dbi. In short: Alfresco by default never deletes file on disk - that is a job left to the system administrator to set up, i.e. via a CRON job.
