Migration Alfresco Community 5.2 to alfresco 23.1

Hello Experts -

We are using Alfresco 5.2 community version and we need to upgrade it to latest version of alfresco 23.x community version.

Is there any link or blog available which can help to migrate data along with alfresco share custom files. We want to know if it's possible? If yes then can we jump directly from 5.2 to 23.x version or do we need to migrate it to like 5.2 to 6.x and then from 6.x to 7.x then so on.

your help will be greatly appreciated. thank you

Change alfresco version from top so you can get idea about version.

And before attempting anything always make a database dump and a backup copy of the “alfrescomodels” folder to be on the safe side .

You cannot directly upgrade from Alfresco 5.2 to 23.x; you must upgrade sequentially (e.g., 5.2 → 6.x → 7.x → 23.x).

I'm sorry, the 6.x in this case is unnecessary. There are two hops: 5.2 > 7.4 > 23.4.

@ebnp2013 We were not aware of any upgrade steps and simply migrated from APS 1.1 to APS 24.3 with minor code changes and adaptations. Why @fedorow are you mentioning about a two-step upgrade if Alfresco and Activiti have the ability to roll out db updates without any additional intervention or its my misunderstanding?

Pay attention what there are two different applecations: Alfresco Content Services (ACS or repository) and Alfresco Process Services (APS or Activity). You asked about ACS and you had my answer before.
