Hi,

in the "February 2026 - Alfresco Customer Newsletter" is the sunset of Alfresco Search Services announced. But I'm not able to open the Link for more Details.

Is there any information available regarding this topic?

Nice catch.
I will see with my colleagues what we can do to make it available in the public part of Connect.

From FEB 2026 Customer News Letter The link is limited to enterprise customers only seems like. I was able to access it though. Here is the summary from news if that helps @Valatronic :

Key Changes

  • End-of-life (EOL) for the Solr-based search products will occur with the release of Alfresco Content Services (ACS) 26.1, expected mid‑March 2026.
  • From ACS 26.1 onward, only Alfresco Search Enterprise (based on Elasticsearch/OpenSearch) will be supported.

Replacement Solution

  • Customers should migrate to Alfresco Search Enterprise, which:
    • Uses Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
    • Supports the same query languages as the previous Solr-based systems (though some features remain unsupported—see documentation).
    • Will have compatibility information tracked in the official matrix.

Support Timelines

  • Solr-based search (Alfresco Search Services and Search & Insight Engine):
    • Supported through the ACS 25 family.
    • ACS 25 is the final version supporting Solr.

Community Edition

  • ACS 26 Community Edition will still use Solr initially.
  • A later Community Edition release will also transition to Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.

Operational Considerations

  • During heavy indexing workloads (e.g., mass ingestion), the live indexer may miss events.
  • Hyland recommends using the re-indexing app in these scenarios.
  • A fix for indexing issues is planned for a future update.
