WSDL vs Atom

Hi,

I'm investigating into using CMIS.
I wanted to get insights about using SOAP instead of AtomPub.
Can anyone point advantages to have a restless service with the features offered by CMIS?

If you are using a CMIS client like Chemistry then the low level details are hidden from you so you shouldn't see a difference between REST or ATOM.  

If you are driving CMIS at the lowest level then it depends upon whether you have the machinery to process SOAP or not.

Thanks for your answer.
For clarification, can you confirm that SOAP is implemented in CMIS only to give flexibility about the way the client or the server is implemented. But it won't provide extra feature that Atom wouldn't have?
