Workflow only for admin users

Hi all,

We're currently using Alfresco 4.0.b (community version) without any problem except that only admin users can start workflow process (with basics workflow provided by the community version).

I had a look at the documentation but I didn't find what could be the cause of my issue.

Where is it possible to allow every users starting a workflow please ?

Yes other user should also be able to start the workflow provided they have all the access.
Have you changes any permissions?
Are you trying to start workflow on any of the items from Data dictionary.

Do one thine login with one user other then admin create one folder upload one content and try to start workflow on that.

Where ? I don't think that I've changed any permissions anywhere…

Yes, I've tried to start a workflow from file in my "homedir", from other shared folders, from site folder… nothing works.
Java error printed out:

org.alfresco.service.cmr.workflow.WorkflowException: 02050051 Failed to start workflow activiti$activitiParallelGroupReview:1:15.

It's strange because my user can only create folder or document in his own home folder… I think some other admin has changed something in the configuration…
How I can rollback ?

Edit: I've uploaded one file in my home folder and tried to start a workflow; same problem.
Edit 2: with Alfresco Explorer, no problem, I can start workflow without any problem.

Hi All,

New idea: do you think that permissions could be wrong on Data Dictionary folder ?

I mean, when you're logged as a "simple" user on Share interface, what are you able to see under Data Dictionary folder ?
In my case, I can only see one folder named: Saved Searches and nothing else.

What do you think about ?

Edit: I've changed the permissions on Data Dictionary folder and put every one as consumer and now problem seems fixed. Could you confirm me permissions on this folder in your Alfresco installation please ?
