Workflow Assignee From Specific Group

My workflow is very similar to the review workflow, and I'm looking for a way to define the set of users that the Assignee can be from. This could potentially be a group, or even an explicit list specified in javascript. Basically, the form must be submitted to a manager for approval, however, I don't know how to limit the available Assignees to only managers. Thanks for any help.

Hi Romain,
I want the user to choose the assignee from a group of people - just as the standard component. Only with two options

1) Select assignee from
a) a constraint list or better
b) a alfresco usergroup

2) Select 1 or many recipients as "temporary pool"

With 2) being more a though about completeness of implementation. Currently, I use a hardcoded constraint, which is not really manageable in production environments.

Thanks in advance for any pointers

I'd just like to add my interest to the solution for the original problem, here. My specific is that when an advanced workflow is used and an association defined with target class cm:user, the dialog which is automatically generated has a 'pull-down' list with all users on the system, rather than just those within the current user's group (as happens with the standard re-assignment logic set off by clicking the right-hand icon on the tasklist for an existing task).

If this is the same problem as other peoples on this topic, I'd be keen for suggested solutions.

Many thanks.

We've been working on a very similar problem. We wanted to allow a user to choose a group assignment for a task from a restricted set of the groups defined in Alfresco. I've posted our solution to this problem here:

I hope this helps.
