hi,

I am working in a project using alfresco to manage the document circulation.

i created two separate users and separate spaces for them and also created rules to those users. the problem  i am facing the rule i created is working from admin console. but from user console it says access denied . what permission should i set to the user and where should i do it.

Also the space user permission is set to all.

Thanks in advance,

Arun

Could you provide more detail please.

What rules have you created?

What do you mean by the rule is working from the admin console?

I have two users arun & krishna. Also i have created separate user space to them.

I created a simple work flow for arun so that the documents he uploads need to be approved by krishna. so when he click on request approval the document will move to the Krishna's space for approval. Inturn krishna will approve the document and after approving it will go to a space called published. if rejected it will come back to arun.

this is work flow i have created. This created work flow works fine from admin console.

But if i log in to alfresco by the users console, is gives me an erro access denied. you do not have permission.

Can u tell me where i am going wrong.

Some more info is still required.

I created a simple work flow for arun so that the documents he uploads need to be approved by krishna

How did you create the workflow?

a) By defining a rule that applies the 'Add Simple Workflow to Item' action
b) By defining an advanced workflow

This created work flow works fine from admin console.

I really don't understand what you mean by this.  How did you interact with the workflow in the admin console?

But if i log in to alfresco by the users console, is gives me an erro access denied. you do not have permission.

At what point in the users console (do you mean the Alfresco web client?) do you get the error?  Can you provide an error stack?

You'll need to provide more information for us to help.

Sorry for the incompleted explanation.

Let me give it in detail what i did.

I am using alfresco-wcm 1.4 version.

1. I logged in to alfresco using the admin usernamd and admin password.

2. Then created users going into manage users from administrator console.

3. While creating users  i alloted the home space name to the users which will be asked at the last.

4. Now two users arun and krishna have been created.

5. then i created a simple workflow for each user. This is entered into the user space, From more options i clicked manage content rules. After that i clicked create content rule.

6. After cllicking create rule, it took me through a various screens, initially i selected for all items from the drop menu.

6. Adding a simple workflow for the user. Then it will ask for the input where i gave request approval, and the destination where the document has to be moved after clicking request approval.

Then gave a name to the work flow for i have created. All this i have done going to the
arun 's space.

After that still in admin console i went to krishna's space, again created a rule by going into manage content rules and then clicking create rule. Here i did the same thing but for one change. But for request approval i gave approved . that is after clicking the request approval from the users space what i have done before the document would be moved to this krishna's space for approvement, Now here this user will click approved option which will shown below the document. Once he click approved the document will be moved to another common space.

This is the logic what i wanted.

All this happens from admin username. But if i log into the user which i have created it gives me error:

system error: Access denied. you do not have permission to execute this operation.

Thanks.  That's enough information to attempt a diagnosis.  I'll give it a go.
