Word add-ins installation in Vista

Hi,

I installed the add-in for Word 2003 in Vista succesfully. I stared the application (Word 2003). No Alfresco toolbar or window was present. What did I wrong?

Another question related to this is that I cannot get CIFS working in Vista. I added the correct address \\NAME_OF_PC\Alfresco. I can ping to the pc (without \\ and \Alfresco). It says:
The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another.

WebDAV works, but I read that it has no write support in Vista, so CIFS is nessacery.

Many thanks.

try name_of_pcA  for example: if your server name is pluto you would use \\plutoA\alfresco for cifs.

as for your alfresco button follow the following steps from the third step, otherwise start from the first step. I could never get it to work without administrator rights, but there has been some discussion on modifying the registry to get it to work with limited user accounts.

Ok, I can see the extension. I did execute the AlfrescoWord2003Setup.msi file, the setup was required to install (also written in readme file).

Thanks for your help.

But for the second,  I already tried with the A extension. The pc can ping to it, there must be some other problem. When wanting to authenticate with the extension in Word I get "Couldn't authenticate with Alfresco server".

For the CIFS / Vista issue, you could read the following information:

(JIRA issue tracker) JIRA ETWOTWO-501

One of the posts describes a workaround which functioned for me when using CIFS together on a Vista machine.

Ok great! I got CIFS working, but saving files directly from Word (without extension) does not work. As for the plugin, it says "Couldn't authenticate with Alfresco server". I double checked the urls and password - as for CIFS the same credentials used and URL works - and they do work.
