Windows search on CIFS mapping

Hello,

if I use Windows search on an Alfresco CIFS mapping, what happens under the surface?

For example:
- Will all the content in the Alfresco repository be pulled over and checked against the search requirements
- Is the system optimized so that, for example, the already created Lucene indexes are used.

Is it something you need to take into account when you design an architecture using CIFS?

Hi,

Windows uses it's own indexing service to scan local and remote drives.

For the Alfresco network drives the Windows client would scan the folders and read content when searching.
