Hi,
I found that for OpenOffice subsystem, you would have 2 options OOoDirect and Jodconverter. Could you please elaborate whtat's the difference between those 2? And which one should I choose?

Thanks!

Hello,

the difference between OOoDirect and JODConverter lies primarily in the way Office processes are handled. OOoDirect only works with one Office process instance that is either started externally (on boot of the server) or by Alfresco once during startup of the subsystem. JODConverter is able to dynamically manage Office process instances (one or more), e.g. able to recover from process crashes and restart the process instances after a certain amount of work to combat memory leakages. For Enterprise deployments, JODConverter should almost always be used.

Axel

Hi Axel, great explanation, thanks ! I am currently using a trial version of Alfresco Enterprise edition. I am converting my HTML page to PDF Using a rule and its getting converted through JODConverter. The images from this HTML page, which are on any remote site other than alfresco repository can be seen in the generated PDF but the images located in the Alfresco repository cannot be seen. Are there any settings to work around this problem.
Please help!

Thanks.

CAn you point one to documentation on how to install?  Not configure per se… but where to put the jars/conf directory? I can't find any information on this for community.
