What is the AVM folder for?

When you log in Alfresco via CIFS shared drive, you can see two folders: Alfresco and AVM.

The AVM folder is empty, but you don't see from the web client. What is it for? Why can't we see it from the web client?

Thanks

The AVM folder is where Web Projects would appear, should you have created any.  If you're not using the WCM functionality and wish to remove it, you can do so via the file-servers-custom.xml configuration file (see http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/File_Server_Configuration for details).

Cheers,
Peter
