Hi team,
I have just seen the feature list of alfresco 3.0 DMS…at http://www.alfresco.com/products/dm/
But i didn't understood what it is exactly.
Is this feature is some thing related to mapping a particular space to a local hard drive??

Can anyone explain me a bit detail. Providing any urls related to this feature is really appriciable.

Thanks 4 ur support.

It's CIFS, implemented via JLAN in Alfresco. It means you can map a local drive to the Alfresco Repository (in Windows terms) as it appears like a normal shared folder on the network.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike and jan,
Thanks for your support.
I just created a sample space and try to map it with the local drive but not able to connect.
can u give me the sample syntax for sharing the predefined space named with "User Home" which comes with alfresco installation. i just given like \\<my computer name>_a\Users\User Home.
But it is not connected and i enabled the <desktop-Actions> in file-server.xml as well and restarted my server.
my alfresco installation directory is C:\Alfresco.
Can u give a bit explanation to map a local drive to a space.

Thanks again for your support.

Hi Jan, After my computer name i have given 'A' as postfix and then it is asking for user name and password.
I have given my system username and password. After entering the system useername and pwd , it is still showing the login window with the message "connecting to….." on title bar. After 20 min even it is not connected. still showing the same window.

any help  ?? and what is that 'A' indicates ?

hi,
you have to provide alfresco credentials like admin/admin.
Cheers, jan

Hi Jan,
If i give the admin/admin the prblem comes again.
i think the problem is with the syntax.
Can u provide the right syntax.

my alfresco installation home directory is :
C:\Alfresco

Let us assume i just want to share the space named with "Data Dictionary" which comes with alfresco installation.
The syntax which i have given is like:
\\<my computer name>a\alfresco\Users\Data Dictionary

is it the right syntax ??
