What is meant by 'Locked topic' marked

I have seen in the forum some of the thread marked as 'Locked topic'.
What does it mean?

A locked topic is one which does not accept new replies. One way a topic gets locked is if the author marks the topic as resolved. We then lock the topic to prevent further discussion. Admins can also lock a topic if it is receiving spam replies.
