I have been playing with the Permissions in share at folder and document level. I have not been able to modify anything on the folders. What are the alternative ways to change permissions for folders and documents in share.

not sure is this the right way or how it works in practice, but maybe you can try to manage permissions/rules from alfresco module. under company home, within sites folders you can find all sites which are created within share, and resectively their folders (that is, share's page components). i thnink that by default all subfolders within one site inherit permissions from parent folder.

in Share, there is a mapping between the explorer privileges to share privileges. but i am not able to modify that. i have changes the permission through Explorer to that ofa coordinator but in share at the folder level Coordinator has no privileges.

hm…not sure is this same problem…i have situation where users can't start new topic in discussions on most of sites created in share, and that goes for users with consumer role (on the other alfresco installation even cosumer can start new topic). most of these sites are created with (default) admin account so not sure are these problems connected with that, and it seems that (in alfresco module) Users home folder is renamed. Any ideas, what could cause a problem?
