WebForms: database callout

Hello.

I would like to be able to display a list to a user in a WebForm that pulls the data from a database table.  I don't even know where to start on this one.  This helps a little bit:

But I am still uncertain.  Can this point to only jsp files?  A java class?  If there is a good example somewhere I would be thrilled if someone could send me a link to it.

this can point at any url that returns a schema - so you can implement either as a jsp or a servlet (or any number of other implementation technologies).  i don't have any examples available of this particular scenario - but it should be similar to the pattern used in the press release example.
