I heard that there are some differences in security between "Windows XP SP2" and "Windows Vista".
In fact, I can access Alfresco via WebDAV from a "Windows XP SP2" client but it doesn't work from a "Windows Vista" client.
Any suggestion on how to configure Alfresco to allow "Windows Vista" client connection?
Thanks in advance

I also got worried and was trying to figure this out since a lot of people using other software couldn't access.
On Microsoft's site there is an update that is not known out there to make it work. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907306/en-us. This is for Vista Home Premium. Not sure if this works on other versions of vista or if there is different updates for the other versions. I just searched their Knowledgebase for WebDav.
When you connect, its a little funky because you can't double click on the folder. You need to right-click and then select open in the menu.
I also have not tested to see if there are any bugs with the way files are transfered to and from Alfresco.

untill now I only got Vista and webdav working on one machine (and there I switched back to XP)
Now more and more people are complaining Webdav (and for them = intranet) is not working anymore because webdav and VISTA doesn't work.
This is critical for our organisation for further Alfresco use. Cifs is not an alternative here due to network settings
- Anyone has a VISTA configuration that does work ? (patch, upgrade… ? )
- Anyone has a work arround with another webdav client. Any freeware solutions here ?
Thanks

WORKAROUND:
FREE program.
it works under XP mac and linux I haven't tried Vista yet it is its own program so it should.
http://www.anyclient.com/download.html
It goes to download.com for actual DL
Vista does not Do webdav fully patched. I am guessing the Vista version maybe matters. nice job MS.

Hello,
we were faced with same type of problem with Windows Vista.
The issue is due to a change of "Basic Authentication" policy in Vista.
You have to change the corresponding value in the registry to 2 or higher.
More details in Microsoft knowledge base:

Hope this will help.
