Web service that acts as the create space wizard

Hi,

I was wondering whether a web service exists that takes the place of the 'create space wizard' on the web client. Essentially, I would like to make a remote call to the Alfresco server and pass the space details in the SOAP request.

The kind of things I would like to pass are existing template name, location of space to be created and the space details (name, title, description, icon).

Has anybody had a similar requirement? I don't believe the 'out of the box' web service provided by Alfresco can fulfill this requirement - unless somebody can tell me otherwise?

I don't believe the web services allow you to do it.  The easiest thing to do would be to write a web script that does this operation for you.  You can then call it giving the parameter as template name, location, and space details, and it will run the code to perform the actions.

You can also write a SOAP web service to do the same.

To extend Alfresco I need to use Web Script?
How much complicated is to implement a web service with it?

Writing a web service is not difficult, it's just writing a Web Script is easier since this is a framework we explicitly provide for extensibility.

I think to use JSF.
Actually, I need to provide any funcionality for Alfresco.
But it doesn't have this funcionality then I think in developer a layer above Alfresco e to offer this services like Create/edit categorys. Genereate new Documents into my aplication and put in Alfresco using my aplication.So, to do this, how can I developer this features?
