WCM Evaluation

I have been using these instructions to evaluate WCM

Are these the current instructions for WCM?  I'm finding there are some inconsistencies and not sure if my lack of WCM success is because the instructions are out of date or something I've done.

Yes that's very old and out of date.  

This would be a better starting point.

Following the new instructions, in step 2 of the Create Web Content Wizard I get the following error.

Step Two - Author Web Content
Enter your document content into the repository.
org.alfresco.web.forms.FormProcessor$ProcessingException: org.alfresco.web.forms.xforms.FormBuilderException: error parsing schema: at line 3 column 140: schema_reference.4: Failed to read schema document 'http://admin.alfrescosample.www--sandbox.192-168-1-107.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180/GetCompanyFooterSimp...', because 1) could not find the document; 2) the document could not be read; 3) the root element of the document is not .

Also, I get a 404 when I attempt to preview the website.

Any ideas?

I am also working with David on this issue.  Just to provide some details.  This is community edition of Alfresco 3.2 with WCM.  We beleive we have installed the alfresco virtual server correctly.  The long domain names look correct and resolve to the correct internal IP address.

Static content will preview fine (or it did yesterday on a slightly different installation) but any dynamic content gives a 404.

Studio also appears to not function correctly if that is in any way helpful, but getting the test app to work is the primary goal at the moment.  Actually, perhaps that is a source of confusion.  I was not able to find and alfresco-sample-website.war but have been using an alfresco-sample-website.zip.  Perhaps I have dug up the wrong version of the sample website.  That could be a source of our troubles.  I will review this new document to see if it indicates where the war should be found.

I'm also trying to preview the website alfrescosample after having completed the steps from the manual Getting Started version 3.2.
I'm working from a VPC so I've adjusted the hostfile in WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. Also I've checked the file alfresco-virtserver.properties. The site is requested, but after 15 minutes I get a 'page could not be displayed' error. The manual says: "Ensure the Alfresco Deployment Server is installed and running". I do not have a deployment server on my vpc installed. Perhaps this is my problem?

Can someone please help me out?

I have looked into the Deployment Server as being part of our issue as well.  As far as I can tell there is a Deployment Server included with Alfresco Community 3.2.  I have seen evidence in my Alfresco install that it is present but I have not come across a way of proving conclusively that it is working.

There is also a stand alone version of the deployment server, but as I understand it, you only need that if you want to deploy without all of Alfresco installed.  There is some information here:

It seems that the file named alfresco-xforms-examples-3.2.tar.gz on the page I link to above contains what is most likely the current samples discussed by the documentation linked to above.
