View categories as spaces

Hi!

I'm looking for a way to represent Categories as a folder structure for a user to browse. Preferbly it would be as an option when searching. Show the result by the region-category-tree instead of a simple list. In a way it would allow the user to "drill-down" the resultset as in a Business Intelligens application. How should I approch this problem? Is this already implemented somewhere?
