Mike,

Thank you.  That is good news for the community as we have been waiting for a stable build since 2.1 .

Can I suggest that you re-enable nightly builds ASAP?  Otherwise bugs that are in 3c have no chance of being caught by community users prior to the actual 3c release?  We don't want a repeat of the 3b broken CIFS+NTLM release for example.

Another question,

What is the current thinking on lucene upgrade to 2.3?  Lucene re-index performance is a big deal for larger repositories.

They were from 15th Oct and had been there until a few days ago. Now they are gone.

Does this mean we will see a 3D release soon.

I have suggested elsewhere (a bit cheekily) that perhaps the "nightly" be replaced with "intermediate". Nightly is a bit of a misnomer.

woohoo!

Nightly build is back!

Mike,

Is there a possibility that we can see the continuous integration test results for the nightly build?  That would give us some confidence in the quality of the builds going forward.  Ideally if you could open up the test suite SVN it would also let community members be able to contribute tests back.

Cheers,

The nightly builds only get uploaded if the build succeeds, including *all* unit tests - it's one of the reasons it hadn't been updated in a while. Despite what you might read on these forums, we don't release any code that hasn't passed all tests.

There's nothing stopping you running (and writing) the tests yourself - they're all in there.  Take a look at the test targets in the build scripts.

I just thought I'd post this link for the wiki for instructions on how community members can contribute new unit tests before someone asks.

Hi Luis…

Can you tell us which level of patches went into 3C? For example, are bugs fixed in Enterprise 2.2 SP2 in 3C?

Luis,

Thank you for the update.  Unfortunately I don't have very positive feedback.

Something is very broken in the test coverage or in the prioritization of fixes in Alfresco labs.  Labs 3c STILL has not fixed what should be by any stretch of the imagination a BLOCKER bug - CIFS passthrough authentication does not work at all.  See the thread on sts passthru for details and my previous post of Nov 13th on this topic.  Moreover an external community user has a webpage with the exact patch to fix this is from the Labs 3b code.  Did it make it in to the 3c?  No.  So we now have to watch TWO months or more for a working CIFS release.  Extremely unimpressive.
