Users from groups not added to site

Hello,

My setup has successfully connected Alfresco to AD. I added one AD group to a site as collaborators, but when I log in as one user from the group, the site has not been automatically added for that user.

Could it be because that user is not in the userSearchBase AD path?

I have managed to get it to work - I guess it was the structure as above. THe user from the group could not be added because it was not in user search path. I also noticed I can log on with any AD user, with or without being in the user search path.

I have another problem: is there a way to restart only AD component? It takes very long to restart the whole server…

If you are on alfresco enterprise then you can change the authentication details via the admin console.

OK, I'm not on Enterprise. Can the authentication component be restarted via command line or via script on Community version? I would like to know that, because I've noticed group memberships and other things are only changed on restart, and I would like to change these things at least daily.

I have checked out this link: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/JMX , where it says enterprise only. So, there's no way to restart these components is by full restart in Community?

I was able to resolve the problem by editing the alfresco.global.properties file. I have added options like here:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/The_Synchronization_Subsystem
one of them was synchronization.import.cron which should be just set up like a cron.

I also added
synchronization.synchronizeChangesOnly=false
synchronization.allowDeletions=false

for my own purposes.
