Username and Password to mapping alfresco to a drive letter

When mapping the CIFS server to a network drive it asks for a username and password but it only accepts the admin username and password.  Trying any other username comes up with an error message.

This is fine for testing but when used in conjunction with the office add on it logs on as admin even if the addon is set up with a different username and password.

Is there any way around this?

You should be able to connect to the Alfresco repository with any username using CIFS.

Trying any other username comes up with an error message.

What's the error?

Thanks,
Mike

I don't know what has changed but in XP it now lets me!

When trying to map the drive in Vista it still won't accept it though.  It keeps saying "windows cannot log you on, please make sure the username and password are correct".  It will allow the alfresco admin username and password though.

I believe there were some fixes made to our CIFS implementation to account for the changes in Vista networking, after v2.1 was released.

If you're not on a production system, feel free to try the latest nightly build (or v2.9 labs - see the announcement). There are also security policy settings within Vista itself to disable NTLMv2 authentication which is possibly causing the problem - search Google for Vista & samba issues.

Thanks,
Mike
