User still has access beyond permitted folders

Hi there,

I’m new to alfresco and testing it as End User with Manager rights. We need to apply some permission rights to specific folders only. This is what I did; first I selected to Manage Permissions and pressed to ignore the Inherit Permissions button. Then created a test user with consumer rights and assigned permissions to specific folders on the Repository. That worked fine, the test user only sees the permitted folders and files. The problem is the test user still has access to all the tagged files in the Tags section. I would have expected to have access only to tagged files from the permitted folders. And if the test user does a search he can see and access all the files in the repository. How can I prevent the user from access documents out of his permitted folders?

Thanxs.

Bye default everyone group has consumer permission on company home folder. That's why your test user has access to documents for which he doesn't have permission. Uncheck inherit permission check box on the folder which you want to show only those who have permission on it.

Just to clarify, your user can't see "any documents for which he doesn't have permission."   Your problem is that the user DOES have permissions to some documents you don't want him to have.
